The TCU and UNTHSC School of Medicine is monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely. We are mindful of the challenges affecting the pre-health community, and our Admissions Committee remains fully committed to recruiting and training generations of future Empathetic Scholars. In keeping with this mission, our policies are designed to give all applicants the opportunity to showcase their journey to medicine.
Pre-Requisite Policy: Our pre-requisite policy allows applicants to take courses online, at four-year institutions and community colleges accredited in the United States. Courses earned as Pass/Fail grades will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Rest assured, the impact of the COVID-19 situation will be taken into consideration when reviewing coursework and will not affect applicants negatively.
MCAT Policy: Our MCAT policy indicates that we accept scores in the 40th percentile from the last three years; 2019, 2020, and 2021. Applicants who meet our MCAT minimum and other admissions requirements will move forward in our process.
The Admissions Committee recognizes the difficult circumstances our pre-health community faces. We understand the time and dedication applicants have put into preparing for this application cycle and we are committed to assisting all applicants through these trying times. We encourage you to remain steadfast in pursuing your dream of a career in medicine.
Here are key areas that each applicant should be focused on when preparing a competitive application.
