Student Coaching

Your Personalized Guide to Succeeding in Medical School

Student Coaching is designed to support medical students in their professional growth and is a longitudinal student resource focused on students’ success and professional identity formation. Each student is assigned to a physician-coach to journey with them throughout medical school.

Student coaches meet quarterly with students to discuss professional growth, goals and any hurdles they face, as well as celebrate their wins along the way! During these mandatory meetings, student coaches will engage with students regarding these specific areas:

  • Progression throughout medical school, including monitoring LIC student performance across clerkships
  • Professionalism monitoring and mentoring
  • Referral to appropriate resources and support services

Your Coach, Your Dedicated Guide

Your student coach will be your partner throughout your medical school journey to help you:

  • Develop Your Professional Identity: Identify your strengths, address areas for improvement and understand the importance of professionalism in medicine.
  • Navigate Medical School: As medical school generalists, coaches will help you access a wealth of knowledge and resources, from academic support to career counseling.
  • Excel and Succeed: Build strong relationships, overcome challenges and provide accountability to help you achieve your full potential.
